Article by Masons Coach Hire

The quality of racing at Royal Ascot is breathtaking, and combined with the unrivalled atmosphere and iconic English summer style, the experience in truly one of a kind. Why not take the stress of planning away by booking your day through Mason Minibus and Coach Hire? We combine your day ticket and coach travel into one simple booking, leaving us to plan the smoothest transport possible, and allowing you to concentrate on enjoying the day, the company and (hopefully) the sunshine!

Useful Info

With us, you can combine your Royal Ascot ticket with your coach travel, taking the stress out of your day, leaving you to relax and enjoy the excitable buzz that is sure to be on board the coach that day. We will plan your itinerary, making sure you arrive with plenty of time to get your bearings, explore the Grandstand and peruse the surrounding lawn areas. We suggest bringing enough cash to last you all day, as although there are two cash machines present at Royal Ascot, they can often be very busy. Avoid spending valuable time in long queues and plan ahead!

Whether you want to hear the thunder of hooves from the Straight Mile to the Winning Post from the rail, or want a wider view and an unrivalled atmosphere from amongst the crowds in the stands, to find your ideal position, it’s best to reach your spot at least 5 minutes before each race begins.

We suggest purchasing a Racecard on arrival, as this will essentially be your programme for the day. Inside this, you’ll find race times, runners, riders and site maps, along with useful information you may need throughout your attendance. It’s also a great souvenir!

Dress Code

The Royal Ascot is a prestigious event, so make sure you don your glad rags and dress for the occasion! Ladies are advised to dress for a smart occasion, preferably with a hat or fascinator, and gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and shirt with a collar and a tie. It’s the perfect excuse to dress up, so why not make the most of it? It’s worth bearing in mind that you’ll be arriving and departing using coach travel so be sure that you can sit comfortably in your outfit. For further advice on what to wear, take a look at the Royal Ascot website.

Food and Drink

Picnics are permitted at Royal Ascot, providing they are carried in a picnic hamper or cool box. To accompany your picnic, one bottle of sparkling wine or Champagne is allowed to be included per adult, however other alcoholic beverages will not be permitted entry. If the sun is set to shine why not pack yourself a perfectly British picnic hamper, a bottle of bubbly and a garden blanket? If you’d rather keep your hands free and travel light, there will be plenty of food and drink available to buy on site.

Entertainment

The Royal Ascot is not just about horse racing, the day is a summer celebration, with entertainment from start to finish. A live band will perform throughout, finishing in the early evening, with a singer holding a short performance at the Bandstand towards the end of the day. There is much fun to be had at Royal Ascot, and we intend to start the celebration on your coach travel that morning, continuing the positive atmosphere through to your journey home. We hope to end your evening on a high, thanks to our excellent, trustworthy service and smooth planning and friendly drivers.
