Summer is finally upon us, and so far the British weather has been kind to us. It’s important to get out and enjoy the sunshine, and maybe even explore new places! This July, Masons Minibus and Coach Hire have organised some great trips to some of the most well-liked UK summer destinations. Below you can read a little more about each of our destinations to help you decide which one is right for you.

Eastbourne

This sunny seaside town has become more and more popular over recent years as a UK summer destination. Famous for its Beachy Head cliffs and Hastings Castle, there is plenty to see and explore for all ages and interests. You may have seen parts of the Eastbourne landscape in popular films and TV series such as Harry Potter and Miss Marple – you can download a map from Visit Eastbourne showcasing Eastbourne’s filming locations. Of course, you can also visit Eastbourne Pier which is full of amusements and restaurants, or take some time to see for yourself why Eastbourne’s seawater has been rated as excellent by the MSC good beach guide

Stratford upon Avon

We are delighted to be able to offer a three-course lunch on one of the most popular restaurant cruisers in Stratford upon Avon. The Countess of Evesham is 70ft long and rides along the River Avon, which has plenty of beautiful views for you to enjoy.

After lunch, you can spend some time exploring the town and its Shakespearian roots. You can visit the five properties connected to Shakespeare and his family to get a feel for what life was like for the poet. Stratford upon Avon is also home to Europe’s largest butterfly farm where you can see some of the world’s most beautiful and colourful butterflies.

Bedford Jazz Cruise

Here at Masons Minibus and Coach Hire, we have arranged a two-course dinner at the popular 4-star Barns Hotel in Bedford. The Hotel oozes rustic charm and is set in picturesque grounds with views of the Great Ouse river, which will be the setting for the next part of your evening. After your meal, you will board a river cruise and enjoy the river’s scenic views whilst listening to a live jazz band – a perfect relaxing summer evening.

Ramsgate and Broadstairs

Our visit to the county of Kent provides the opportunity to visit one of two popular UK summer destinations, Ramsgate or Broadstairs. The seaside town of Ramsgate is infused with a cosmopolitan vibe due to its close connection to Europe – its Royal harbour is nearly always full of continental yachts. There are plenty of museums and interesting sites to explore to indulge your curiosity, including boat trips out to Goodwin Sands where you can see seals basking in the sun.

Broadstairs has a more vintage charm to Ramsgate with retro architecture, fishermen’s cottages and connections to Charles Dickens. You can head to one of their seven sandy beaches where you can learn to surf or just relax on the sand. You can explore Charles Dickens’ relationship with the town by visiting the Dickens House Museum and Bleak House, which is where he stayed when he wrote David Copperfield.
