New Health & Safety Measures

Article by Masons Coach Hire

Masons (‘it’s time for a new adventure’) trips have been designed to carry a specific number of passengers on board the coaches taking into the account new social distancing measures.

As you wait to board the coach at the beginning and end of the day, you will be asked to maintain social distancing. Coaches will be loaded from the back first, and a sign with your name will be placed onto each seat. This will be arranged by our staff, taking into account the order of the pickup route and family members.
Each coach is fitted with hand sanitisers and you will be asked to use those as you board and disembark. Government guidelines are that face coverings are worn during transportation (a face covering is a covering of any type which covers your nose and mouth). Exemptions to face coverings can be found here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers#exemptions-face-coverings and we would ask that you notify office staff at point of booking if you are exempt. Face coverings are not a substitute for maintaining social distancing and good hand hygiene.

Sadly, we will not be able to operate with a courier on board, and our hot drinks and refreshment service will cease during this time. We will continue to monitor this during the easing of lockdown. We are keen to re-establish this when the time is right.

The toilets on board the coach will be open during transportation for you to use should you need. However, we ask that this is used in emergencies only and that the utmost care with hand washing and sanitising is taken.

Our drivers are being asked to wear face coverings during transportation where appropriate; they will also be responsible for giving you a safety briefing when boarded, and they will disembark the coach first, allowing for social distancing. After each movement the coaches will undergo a deep clean of touch points e.g. handrails, and a disinfectant fogging machine will be used after each trip. A risk assessment can be supplied upon request.
