The Great Stink – Guided tour designed by City & Village Tours 11th August

12.00 Noon   Arrive at The Crossness Engines, Abbey Wood London

If customers  have a smart phone they can download the free Vox Connect App and use their own earphones to listen to the tour. This will aid safer social distancing on the guided tour. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t have a smart phones because social distancing can be managed in small groups to hear the guides commentary.

A Picnic at the Sewage Works! Hot drinks will be provided and they will have safe and clean tables to eat packed lunches that you bring with you.

1.00pm Enjoy the guided tour telling the story of spending a penny in London from Roman times to the coming of the Victorian sewers. We go out onto the riverside, discover the reservoir that once held 25 million gallons of poo, walk through a sewer, explore the quirky exhibition and take a tour of the incredible Cathedral of Sewage to see the largest beam engines in the world. You can download a free app onto your smart phones and use your own earphones to listen to  the tour guide’s entertaining live commentary.

3.00pm Enjoy a cuppa and a Q & A

3.45pm Head Home
