As we’re only days away from December, which means it is officially time to get into the Christmas Market season across the UK. However, with a multitude of options, all offering a variety of different food, drinks and general experience, it can be difficult to choose the best ones for you. Here is our list of markets you should experience this year.
Manchester
Dates: 8th November 2019 to 5th January 2020
Locations: Albert Square, Cathedral Gardens, Market Street, Exchange Square, St. Ann’s Square, King’s street, Brazennose Street and New Cathedral Street
One of the most recognised Christmas markets in the UK is in Manchester and since inception in 1999, it attracts visitors from across the country. This year the markets boast a total of 9 sites across central Manchester and 300 stalls for you to find the perfect trinkets and try a range of new international food and drink.
Kew Gardens
Dates: 20th November to 5th January 2020
Location: Kew Gardens, London
In its seventh year, Christmas at Kew Garden this year takes a new winter trail, guiding visitors through a host of different and more exciting installations for 2019. From the sourdough and pies to the spiced cider and hot chocolate, Christmas at Kew Gardens is the perfect family experience. On the 28th of November, we have a trip to Kew Gardens where you can truly take in the experience.
Nottingham Winter Wonderland
Dates: 15th November to 31st December 2019
Location: Old Market Square
As the largest Christmas event in the East Midlands, the Nottingham Winter Wonderland offers an extensive range of food, stalls and entertainment to suit everyone. The Ice Rink is back by popular demand and this year includes a dedicated children’s rink. End your trip with a drink from an ice glass at the Alpine Ice Bar.
Winchester Christmas
Date: 21st November to 22nd December 2019
Location: Winchester Cathedral
Due to its unique location, Winchester Cathedral Market attracts close to a million visitors every year. With over 100 chalets and an open-air ice rink, it’s easy to see why it was voted 2nd by Booking.com. Some stalls also include British craftspeople so you’re sure to find a unique selection of jewellery, paintings, textiles and decorations. Birmingham Frankfurt Market
Dates: 7th November to 23rd December 2019
Location: Victoria Square, New Street
This is the largest authentic German market outside of Germany and Austria and is based in the heart of Birmingham. Whether you want a pretzel, bratwurst or schnitzel, every stall here offers you beautiful and authentic food experience. Centrally located on Victoria Square and New Street means you can easily access via train car or on foot. Throughout the festive period, there will also be more live music.
Christmas at Blenheim Palace
Date: 22nd November to 5th January 2020
Location: Blenheim Palace
The festivities at Blenheim Palace begin soon and this year you can take on the brand new Alice in the Palace experience to immerse yourself in exploring the world of Alice in Wonderland. Away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, you can enjoy all of the stalls on the beautiful background of the palace.
